Working in Brancaster
The village runs down to the staithe and the marshes, with the golf club and the beach beyond. It is holiday territory, so occupancy swings hard between August and February.
It is at the far western end of what we cover, about an hour and a quarter away, and always arranged in advance alongside other jobs on the same trip.

What goes wrong in Brancaster
The housing here has its own habits. These are the jobs we get called to most.
Private drainage as well as private heating
Septic tanks and treatment plants are common out here. What goes down the drain matters more than it does on mains sewerage, and a blockage is a different job entirely.
Exposure and salt
There is very little between these houses and the North Sea. External pipework, flue terminals and anything on a north-facing wall take a beating and need checking more often.
