Plumber in Eaton

Eaton is older, larger housing than the estates around it — which usually means more pipework, more radiators and more places for a leak to hide.

Working in Eaton

Eaton Village, the streets off Newmarket Road and the roads running down towards Eaton Park make up most of our work here. It is ten minutes from base, so it is another patch we can reach quickly on an emergency.

The stock is largely Edwardian and 1930s detached and semi-detached, often extended more than once. Bigger houses mean longer pipe runs, more rads on a single circuit, and heating systems that were never rebalanced after somebody added a kitchen extension.

What goes wrong in Eaton

The housing here has its own habits. These are the jobs we get called to most.

Systems that were never rebalanced

Add two radiators to an extension and the far end of the house goes cold. It is almost never the boiler. Balancing the circuit properly fixes what an upgrade usually will not.

Cast iron radiators

Plenty of the period houses still have original cast iron. They are worth keeping — but they hold a lot of water and a lot of sludge, and the old valves seize. Swapping valves on cast iron is a careful job, not a quick one.

Cellar stopcocks and buried mains

In the older Eaton houses the stopcock is often in a cellar or under the front path. Worth finding out where yours is before you need it at two in the morning — we will show you on any visit.

What we do in Eaton

What people say

Faultless service. I posted a leaky toilet in a property we let out. Archie answered the same day. He attended the next day. He fixed the problem, he cleaned up behind himself and he made sure my tenants were happy. He took before and after photos and sent them to me. He submitted an invoice with a full report of work carried out and why.
