Plumber in Stalham

Stalham is the working town for the northern Broads — where the surrounding villages come for everything — and the plumbing reflects a patch that is only half on the mains.

Working in Stalham

We are out to Stalham most weeks. Far enough that we plan work rather than promise an hour, close enough that same or next day is usually realistic. We will tell you which on the phone rather than after you have waited in.

The town is a mix of older brick and flint along the High Street with postwar estates behind it, and much of it has mains gas. Go a mile in any direction — Sutton, Ingham, Catfield, Hickling — and you are into oil, LPG and septic tanks.

That split matters more here than almost anywhere else we work, because the two halves barely overlap. A boiler swap in town and a boiler swap out at Hickling are different trades with different parts on the van.

What goes wrong in Stalham

The housing here has its own habits. These are the jobs we get called to most.

Oil and LPG once you leave town

The villages around Stalham are largely off the gas grid. Tank condition, the fire valve, water in the bottom of the tank and a fuel line buried twenty years ago are the usual culprits, not the boiler itself.

Septic tanks and treatment plants

A lot of property here is on private drainage. When a bathroom backs up the problem is often past the house entirely, and rodding indoors just moves it about.

Hard water, old cylinders

Norfolk water is hard and the cylinders out here have often been in place for decades. Hot water that has quietly got slower over years is usually scale, not a boiler about to fail.

One visit, properly stocked

At this distance we would rather diagnose thoroughly and return once with everything than make three half trips. It reads as slower and finishes sooner.

What people say

Amazing service. Archie was efficient when organising the work, promptly arrived to complete it the same day and friendly and professional while he did the work. I would highly recommend.
